Thank you Manuel. I watched this video and it is great. I love the power hammer and twisting machine. The finished blade is great.

Thank you Brion and Dan!

BTW, Dan, if you can insert the youtube window in here it would be great, I couldn't do that myself.

Manuel, I have 2 questions.

1. It looks like you are sitting down at the belt grinder, is that so? Because it looks like a good idea!

2. Have you ever thought of using a push stick at the belt grinder? I have found that the stick keeps a steady pressure where you want it on the blade and your fingers don't get burnt....

Here are some pics of the sticks I use. (note the ergonomic shape)

Hello Joshua.

1. Yes, I work sitting down while working in my grinder <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//wink.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' /> I highly recommend it! I use a bar stool.

2. I actually use a thimble (made from a finger of an old forging glove) for the first, heavy grind, mostly in the tip area which gets the hottest. I want to keep the most sensitivity as I can on the piece. Your pushing stick look very nice though, I might copy that and give it a try. Thanks for the pictures.

Cheers

Joshua, I also sit at the grinder and use an adjustable stool. Everyone has different methods, but it works for me. Being 6'7", it is easier on my back. Again great video Manuel. I have watched it a number of times and will probably have some questions later on.

That's very very nice, Manuel. I really appreciate you taking the time and effort to put these together! Love the pattern in the blade, and the snakewood complements it very well.
