Very cool. Can you show us how you lay the knife out on the surface grinder so you know the ricasso and tang are parallel to the blade?
Great video! The camera was exactly where I wanted it, very informative, and plenty of tool time! Thoroughly enjoyable
There is really no special steps to doing it - I just plop it on the surface grinder and let 'er rip!
Now, one of the last steps I do while forging is to lay the knife on a pair of large, long dies in the press, and give it an easy squeeze.
This puts things on the right page before I even get into the finishing and grinding of the knife.

This is Fantastic-you clearly have your methods and techniques down to a science. Great information and I have to say, the "Karlisms" throughout kept me grinning. <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> Thanks so much for taking the time to make these videos. I look forward to watching the others.

Karl thank you so much for taking the time to explain your methods. I learned a lot and really need to make better use of my mini mill. I didn't catch were I'm supposed to send the check for the video/class.
