Hello!

sooo i wanted to try out something new, step out of my comfort zone and do something challenging.

Ended up making a integral blade, inspired by the kard daggers, but just randomly adapted to the piece.

5160 steel salvaged out of a truck leaf spring, ended with allot of alloy banding <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> will see if the Ht removed it

the starting piece of steel was 10" long and 1/2" thick large around 1"

first time forging this thick material

ended up ditching the tang and decided to grind it down afterwards.

So far i like it, i noticed some thing that i will avoid doing next time and thing i will do, like forge out more the ricasso area, tang and bevels

ended up with an 8" blade

integrals are nice and interesting, quite a task to forge down and keep a centred blade (need more experience)

the blade is heat treated but i didn't take a pic of it but will try to take some pics along the way and keep the WiP post updated

if you have any suggestion, opinion or want to point out something feel free to do so, will appreciate it <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

have a nice day <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
