Hello,
I've seen 3/16 end mills up to 6 inches before. I found them at 4 inches on a website that I just can't find anymore. Usually extra long for these is 3 inches. I'm going to be using it on wood, and I don't mind going slow, but I know that length is not a typical size.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Nick
My recommendation is to search Ebay. Most of the time when I'm looking for something that I know is a hard to find item, I go straight to Ebay, and if I can't find it there.....I know it's gona be tough to come by. The "trick" that I've learned with ebay is to go there everyday and search for the item(s).....sometimes it takes weeks of doing that, but historically, sooner or later I find what I'm looking for. Of course in the mean time I'm searching the web. Whether it be ebay or the web in general, trying different specific words within the search dialogue makes a world of difference.
In your case I'd start with "6" endmills", or " 6 inch endmills". Then start widening with terms such as "extra long end mills" "long reach endmills", etc.

Thanks Ed!
I found a site that has 4 inch 3/16th endmills. I thought I'd pass along the info if anyone else is looking. I'm hoping to make my hidden tang life a little easier.
