I recall reading about some problames some bladesmiths were having with renting there propain tanks a few months ago. as I looking for a larger tank right now, I decided to post a amazon link to the proper spot were you can start look for large tanks for sale to own instead of just for rent. I hope it helps some of you out with any problems from your supply companies. i use amazon smile as I can get a donation made to the Autism science foundation with each qualifying purchase.

I think the issue I've seen folks have are with the 500 lb and bigger tanks the propane company installs in your yard, then wants to inspect the gas lines and equipment you have hooked up. I run 100 lb tanks that I picked up at Ace hardware (I think they're even $20 or $30 cheaper than the Amazon link) and just have extras so I don't have to stop forging to run to town to get a bottle filled.

True however not every town has a ACE, and its a good way to get a conversation like this started. also i did not check every inch of amazon like i do when i am hunting for a item. you should be able to pick up a 500lbs tank some were to allow for less hassle getting it filled.

Kevin, I see tanks for sale in several sizes at my local Fleet Farm and Menard's stores. I recommend buying LP from a source who sells it by the gallon, and not by the refill.

It will save you a lot of money.

I own 3 twenty pound tanks and get them refilled at my local cenex station. however the main problem is im at least 30 miles from the nearest menards, home depot and around 50-100 miles from the nearest fleet farm. the local Ace is a small one. amazon for me is a easyer option when it comes to getting a larger tank.=)

I definitely need a tank like that. Our local tractor supply only has 40lb tanks for about half that price.
