Just had one of those days, made a table for my bandsaw, jig to get the angles right on the tanto handle, fixed the drill press, and fixed my hand sanding jig.

It doesn't get better with time!   Been Bladesmithing for 35+ years, and I call it "Shiny Object!"...meaning I'll be doing something productive, get a bright idea, and off I go, either creating a new tool, or "improving" an old one.

Then suddenly I look up....and the day is over.  😮   Every now an then would be OK....but I find the older I get....the more "Shiny Object" gets in my way! 😉

Oh god Ed Caffrey Ive only been at it for 3 years and yesterdays spent most of the day putzing instead of working...  I cant imagine if it only gets worse, although, in 35 years I will be 97 or dead, which ever comes first...

Right now I am only using a swivel vice.  But this is on the todo list.  The one I want to build will articulate on all 3 axis.  Left<=>Right, Up <=> down, and rotation. You are way ahead of me, i'm jealous

I do have a post vice, but I like this large 100lb vice an old retired blacksmith gave me so he could see it in use again.  I will see if I can scrounge up a picture of it.

Michael Samdahl

I dont know if you have a Princess Auto in Montana, but I bought that 60lb Kanca post vice on sale for like $250 Canadian dollars, so like $4 USD.
