Hard to tell from that link what psi the regulator is, but probably want 5-10 psi to get forging heat. A 30 psi regulator is $32 from High Temp Tools

Have you tried partially closing off the front and back with fire bricks? You'll have to experiment and re-tune your burner.

With all due respect, I believe you were "taken". If I were you, I would first seek the help of the seller, and if they cannot solve the issue(s), ask if you can return it for a refund. My guess is what you stumbled upon is another entity trying to make a fast buck off the current popularity of knifemaking. I've watch it happen in everything from grinders, to grinding belts, to even blatantly false advertising of steel types. When you see a "forge" for that kind of price......it's certainly a buyer beware situation.

Well, the video on that website shows a running forge getting a piece of what looks like 1/2" rebar plenty hot. It may not be enough to get a piece of knife steel where you want it.

Show me a picture of the forge while running. I think I may be able to help you get some more out of it. I really need to see the whole venturi burner and I need to know what psi your regulator is set at.
