Hi i am looking for a good sorce of Kaowool, coating, best burner or burner plans,at the best price. i am trying to figer out if building is going to save me that much over just buying a premade one. I would rather not have a fan on my burner set up. any info would be great.

http://www.hightemptools.com/supplies-mainpage.html Here's where I get my forge supplies. If you're going to be making a lot of damascus I recommend a forced air forge. I built mine after scavenging parts from the salvage yard for about $150. I've never seen anything like my forge out there for anywhere near that price. It takes me about a day to make one and I get it exactly how I want it. I go through one forge every year or two depending on how well I take care of it after using. I'm really hard on my forge getting flux all over and pushing 2,900 degrees Fahrenheit when in use. I love my forge! Warning Note: If you get/make a forge with Inswool in it make sure it also has a coating of satanite over the wool to keep the fibers from blowing around in the air and then you breathing them in. The satanite also is resistant to flux and the wool is NOT so I have a laver of satanite over the wool in my forge about 1/4 inch thick. I know, I know, most all you fellas out there are going with dry welds, I just can't stop doing it with flux because it works so well for me. Happy heating and may your forge burn ever hot!

Hi, I would recommend building a castable refactory forced air forge. I built mine for under 400. It works great.

Good Luck!
