I thought I would share my little invention with yall to perhaps get your brain juices flowing. Maybe you can come up with a better version. I know Uncle Al makes a manual version but I had all the parts to make one automatic. The right angle gear reduction box is just an old winch that I re-purposed. I hope you will share your thoughts with me. It works like a champ. There are also some adapters so you can twist large cable. Check out the video. Video-Chad Kennedy Damascus Twisting Machine

Very creative.

I use a Rigid pipe threader. My system allows me to use 8 point impact sockets so I can twist any size material. You could probably alter yours to do so, as well.

Watch at the 18 minute mark:

Great idea Karl. I do have adapters and I have shown the 2" adapter in the pictures. The primary 1 1/4" piece of square tubing with the set screw allows me to twist from 1" down to practically nothing. I don't have to let anything cool. I just stick it in there and clamp down on it. That pipe threader does save you a lot of fabricating though. Aren't those pretty expensive? Where did you get it?

That's awesome. I've been thinking of building one with a 60-1 gear reducer.
