Everyone who's been to my shop for a class has asked me about this, wanting to know where they could get one (or more). For a long time I've made my own "sanding sticks", but because of the time and effort involved in making them, it was never feasible to offer then for sale.

All that has changed! Tim did a couple of 3D printed ones, and after tweaking the material and design, I'm loving it! Tim made me this prototype, and I've hand finished about 1/2 dozen blades with it. I actually like this one better than the aluminum version I've used for years!

OK, all that being said, we will soon be offering these for sale on KnifeMakerTraining.com! Tim and I also made a video explaining it, and showing it's use. Look for it within the next few days!

The initial price is $24.99 which INCLUDES Priority Mail flat rate shipping within the CONUS. Price may fluctuate as the price of materials fluctuates.

As soon as Tim has them on the KMT website, I'll post a direct link on this thread....that'll make it easy for everyone!<img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

I am going to pick one of these up, but watching the video of how quickly you finished that blade with this tool just made me realize how poor my grinding technique actually is. Looking forward to using this.

Thank you Ed, I watched the video and please let me know when available. Much better than my wood block.

We've already sold out of the first run, but more are coming! More material should arrive today, and there should be more available within the next day or two. Tim (my son and the brains behind KnifeMakerTraining.com) is working hard to get more completed. He's also prototyping out sanding sticks for hollow grinds in 8", 10" and 12". It will likely be a couple of weeks before those are ready to sell..... I don't do much hollow grinding, so we are sending them off to a close friend who does, for testing/evaluation.

Keep an eye on the website (KnifeMakerTraining.com) and just scroll down once the page loads, to see all our products.
