Hey all, decided I just don't need the KA-75 anymore, I thought I'd be using it more for punching but my Bull has just as big a stroke length.
This is not a reciprocating hammer, you have to mash the pedal for each hit, for those that aren't familiar, you can check out info on the hammers here: KA-75.com
They will do around 130bpm if you get the timing right tapping your foot, and it hits very hard with adequate air. This hammer has very low hours (maybe 20 total), and is in excellent working condition (can be demo'd under power at my shop in Candler, NC). Has flat dies currently, which due to the hammer design stay extremely square. Excellent for setting ricasso, squaring billets, punching holes, slitting, and planishing with a flatter. You can take rough forged bevels to near perfect with a power hammer flatter under the top die.
With different dies or top tooling, it would be great for forging blades also, can do hard blows or very soft blows easily. However, because of the "single blow per tap" nature of these hammers, they're not particularly useful for drawing damascus billets. Great for squaring a skewed billet, setting initial welds, or making knife sized san-mai, but not good for drawing down thick stock. So if you're looking for something primarily for making damascus, this hammer isn't for you.
Asking $3,000 firm, which is about $1500 less than these cost new. Includes a large piece of 2" plate that it's mounted on, giving more anvil mass. Can deliver within a reasonable distance, or possibly to Blade Show or any of the classes/hammer-ins at Haywood.
Shipping arrangements otherwise would be up to the buyer.
Email, PM, or call for more info. Thanks!
