I know of a nice hammer that you might consider. The first up is a hammer from Wayne Brungard in Denver Colorado. 303-443-4801 Please feel free to call. This is what has been done to the hammer. In Wayne's words. Within the last couple of months I rebuilt the hammer. The holes have been reamed and new over sized pins made. I took the machine down to the bare bones. While the bearings are not perfect, I did not feel it necessary to replace them in that it would not add to the longevity of the machine. I have to double check, but I believe there are still shims between the upper and lower bearing blocks. As you can see the hammer is mounted on a 1" thick steel plate with wood bolsters bolted to the underside of the plate. I did this so that I can move the hammer anywhere I want to with a pallet jack. I seriously doubt the hammer has more that 25 hours on it since I bought it. The reason for this is that I am a custom shop and the work didn't lend itself to the use of the hammer. It has a 220V single phase motor. Please see attached photo's. Wayne is asking $4800 for this hammer.
