Hi all,

I was just gonna see if any of y'all folks from Arkansas would be planning on going to the semi-annual lions-club gun and knife show here at the Hot Springs Convention Center. I love talking to fellow bladesmiths on the forums but I always like meeting in person too. I was just hoping that someone from the ABS might be there. By the way I do have a booth there and I am supper nervous because this will be the first time I display my knives at a knife show. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I am posting this in the "knife critiques" because I will posting some pictures of the knives I hope to be displaying shortly and I would like to have them critiqued.

Thanks,

Jonathan

First show. That's always a thrill and sometimes a little nerve racking. I won't be able to be there but I hope that you will have a great show.

A couple of tips: 1) Try to greet each person that stops at your table. They will be much more likely to ask about your knives if you initiate the conversation (and always stand up while talking to them). 2) Don't be afraid to tell them about yourself as well as about your knives. Customers like to know about the person who has made the knife.

Good luck,

Gary

Ok,

Here are some pictures of some of the knives that I hope to be displaying at the gun and knife show.

This is my most recent knife. I tried to make it look like a pirate style fighting knife. I has a desert iron burl wood handle and a 1084 blade with a forge finish.

Now this is a knife that I'm calling "birds eye view" because it has birds eye maple burl handle and birds eye Alabama damascus steel blade.

Heres a close up of the blade so you can see the pattern.

Ugg,

Sorry but I am having complications with uploading the pictures to the post.

it says "Sorry this file extension could not be used on this board"
