Hello Everyone,
This is my first post of any work on the ABS forum. Since most of you don't know me, I will give a little description of what I usually make. I do a range from swords to working knives. I like to make jian and dao, and also messers. For a break from those things, I make simpler working knives for my friends that hunt and fish back in Texas. I will post the newest workers below, as well as a couple of pics of the nicer work. That should give an example of the range of stuff I like to make.
Please remember, these first two are for a friend to give to his children, who are in their 20's and avid hunters. So, I did not finish the area just ahead of the bolster as much as I would on a custom that I was making for a collector.
This is a grosse messer from awhile back (it was in Knives 2016 - the only time that has ever happened to me).
I did the Han Jian with Charles Wu. The blade is a mosaic pattern weld. I did the blade and the wood, and Charles did the copper. He is an amazing artist, if any of you ever want to work in a Chinese idiom.
thanks for having me here.
take care,
kc
Good stuff there Kevin. Nice hamon work and the two swords are great. The messer makes me want to go chop something. Really nice work.
