This is my third finished knife. It was forged from recycled leaf spring. The sculptural work was all done hot, with hammers, punches, a chisel and pliers. The blade was differentially hardened and textured, then patinated in vinegar. The handle is rosewood with copper pins, and was sanded to a high grit before buffing with wax. The copper button inlay is stamped with my touchmark. Please let me know what you think?

For only having made 3 knives I think it is awesome. You have really put a lot of effort using different techniques to make that knife. It is quite original and interesting and the horse head alone is a work in itself. Keep it up!

Joshua, that is really cool knife. It's not something you see every day for sure. Any plans for a sheath? I bet you could make something interesting to meet up against the scroll-guard.

Your photography is really nice as well, these are really clear professional pictures. Great job!

Thanks!

I don't plan to make a sheath for this piece as it's already sold. However, I'd like to make another one in the future, and I agree a sheath and/or display stand would be a nice addition. I should note, the pics were taken by the wood instructor here at Haywood CC; I just did a little editing.
