While at The Arkansas Show I had told myself that I wasn't going to buy any ivory but saw this piece of walrus and soon changed my mind. I wanted to do something a little different with the ivory handle so I decided on this type of pommel wrap. I got the idea from some of the 19th century rifle butt caps which wrapped both the top & bottom of the stock.

The steel is a variation off of a "W" that I 4-wayed a couple of times.

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks,

Gary

Gary, always love your renditions of timeless classics! Great knife! What kind of damascus did you make there? I want to make some like that! Inspired minds want to know!

Gary, saw your damascus recipe ay the bottom of your post. Would love to see that in September at your Friday nite event (making W 4 way)!

Hi Tony,

The steel was a 20 x 8 "W' pattern that I forged on the bias with my squaring dies. When I four-wayed it, I added one piece of 1084 sandwiched by two pieces of 15N20 between each of the four pieces.

Glad that you liked it.

Gary
