Hi Guys

The blade for this bull nosed skinner is forged from a cold chisel. The blade length is 130mm and 6mm thick at the spine. The spine of the blade has been chamfered 30mm back from the point to reduce drag on piercing but retain maximum tip strength. The blade has had clay applied to the spine and is differentially hardened. There is a nice transition line on the secondry bevel between these two areas, the overall length of the knife is 250mm. The handle scales are stabilised fish tailed oak with blue handle liners held to the tapered tang with two stainless corby bolts, the handle also has a S/S thong tube.

The sheath is a wet formed deep pouch style, with a little tooling around it's throat and dyed mahogany brown. The sheath has blue stitching to pick up with the blue liners in the handle. Thank you for taking the time to look. All comments and questions very welcome.

All the best

Steve

Nice work Steve. I like the tapered tang. Did you forge the taper or grind?

I ground the taper on this blade Chris. I think it's an OCD thing with me, marking everything out is a throw back to my welding and fabrication days.

Thanks for your comments gents.

Regards

Steve
