This is a bowie in my Southland series of knives. The name "Oak Crossing" is reminiscent of the many stream crossings throughout the South named after simple landmarks and are often the sites of noteworthy skirmishes or battles. The blade is 12 inches of my laddered W pattern Damascus.
The handle is dyed Sambar Stag. Culpepper has this dye called Mahogany which I very much prefer on my stag.
The fittings are forged to shape Damascus along with some stainless spacers. The acorns are file textured.
That's outstanding Lin. I like the work and attention you put into the details consistently. I also like the little storylines and subtle themes in these pieces in the 'Southland' series. Can't wait to see this in person.
Lin, I love it. I hope I can make things that nice one of these years.
That is beautiful work. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thank you guys. The week or two before the Blade Show is always stressful with so much to do and get ready for. We're each being pulled in five different directions. I look forward to finally getting there and settling down and visiting with you guys and seeing a lot of fine knives.
an absolutely outstanding piece. Lots of details that are subtle yet exquisite
That's really a beauty Lin.

The consistency in the pattern of the blade is beautiful and the attention to the finer details are what make this knife a truly outstanding piece. Something to try and aspire to, may be one day. Great work Lin.
