Having a background in knife making utilizing the stock removal method, this new approach sure is exciting. You will notice the amount of scale I left on the knife. I never had a chance to play with fire scale and hammer marks, and the character they create. I got so excited when I ground down to an especially equally spaced row of hammer marks, I HAD to leave them. To my eye they looked too cool to get rid of.

The blade is crafted from 5160 leaf spring, Handle is bubinga. 9oz Hand tooled, hand saddle stitched sheath.I was going for a heavy chopper to replace the belt axe and bow saw I usually carry in the woods while creating shooting lanes for archery season.

Please share any thoughts/ feedback

Thank you for the compliment on the sheath Jason. I'm actually starting to work on a hand stitching tutorial that I will post in the Sheaths section of the Forum.

I know for most folks starting out with leather, the stitching feels like some kind of black magic is required to get it to turn out right. Its actually a simple, repeatable process that is super rewarding once the basics are learn.
