For this knife I used Moran's favorite number of layers (556) and his two favorite steels (W2 & A36) to create a knife as much like his original as possible. The handle is curly maple that I colored with Aqua Fortis. The fittings are nickel silver except for the inlayed escutcheon with are fine silver.

Gary,

Outstanding! Your attention to detail shows..

Could you say what were the thicknesses of steel you started with?

Tom--I started with two pieces of W2 & one piece of A36, each was 1/2" thick.
