5160, 6.25" blade, 4.5" Walnut handle, brass bolsters and pin, red, black and white spacers. Hamon was done with the Oxy/acet torch while heat treating, and with lots of help from folks that responded to my post about Ferric Chloride and how to use it! Thanks!!!!

Very nice Robert. And they say you cannot get a hamon in 5160. Ha! Jim Crowell would love it. Good job.

Brion,

Yep, Jim taught us this in the Intro Class. He made a cutter with an outstanding torch hamon and I won it in the hat draw at the end of the week! We were lucky to have both Jim and Tim the first week of class. They had us going hard at it. Tim made a little brute de forge out of an old file during the coal class, and I won it in his hat draw. Lucky me <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> Thanks again for the help getting the etching done!

Bob
