I made this knife for a ''Knife in the hat'' on a different forum, the challenge was to forge a knife from 1 cubic inch of starting material.
I had a piece of 75ni8 and o2 damascus lying around in the perfect size, the billet was originally used for damascus rings, so it has a very bold low layer twist pattern.
I made the handle from stainless steel and Macassar ebony, this was my first time working with stainless and I really like it, even when it is hard on drill bits.
The handle is a takedown construction held together by alignment pins and a handmade stainless nut on the end.
I am working hard on getting more precise with my knifemaking, and I am quite pleased with this one.
really nice work! I started a 1 cubic inch challenge here last year, you can take a look at the thread here https://www.americanbladesmith.org/community/work-in-progress-wip-and-tutorials/1-cubic-inch-challange/paged/3/#post-27684
