I wanted to give this on a bit of a 19th century feel so I modified the d-guard a bit from the norm. The blade is 1084 & 15N20 with an ironwood handle & 416 furniture.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Gary

I like that Gary. Nice work! The guard handle treatment reminds me of a hanger or short sword handle. Works really well. Thumbs up.

Thanks, guys. The guard was the first time that I've tried forging any 416. Glad that you liked it.

Hi Gary,

Man that is one good looking knife, the D- gaurd really flows well with the knife. I Love the way ironwood looks on a well made knife, somebody will be mighty proud to on this one!

Thanks,

Great looking Damascus Gary, and the handle looks great. Nice job on the finishes. I don't want to be the only person in the room, but the ricasso looks a little wide for the handle to me. Other than that, I'd have to say that it looks pretty darn good! I really like the blade shape in general. The false edge/clip is very well placed in relation to the blade length. How many layers in the Damascus?

Thanks, everyone. Your kind words are appreciated.

Joshua--The steel is a 40 x 12 "W" that was ground like a ladder and forged to thickness.
