A complimentary set of hunters forged from 1084 steel: Mountain Buffalo & Raven. Blades are 3 3/8" long and differentially hardened. Cord wrapped and resin hardened handles over white deer skin, with buffalo teeth and pewter bird skull menuki. Hamons represent mountains and raven's wing, respectively, with heat colored copper spine escutcheons. Each knife also has a file-worked snake on the spine which, unfortunately, I did not get pictures of before delivering to their new owners. I know these are not as traditional as some, but they were a fun project and I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks. Thanks...
Very nice Ed. Good job with the hamons and polishing, especially with 1084. I like them, bet the customer will too. Good stuff.

Nice work Ed, I also like the leather work.
Very nice Ed. Great Hamons! Your leather looks first class, too!

Nice work Ed!!! Those are the best hamons that I have seen in 1084! I like the details in the embellishments. You put some thought into that.
Thank you all very much <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//biggrin.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> I did some experimentation and ended up doing some interesting things with the clay in order to get the needed activity, as well as being extremely careful with the heat. Brion, thanks again for your advice on the hamons-they should only get better and more fun from here! <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//cool.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />
