So today was the final day of the Chef's knife workshop with Matthew Parkinson. Saturday was the Damascus demo where he made a 5-bar patternwelded Seax (awesome demo) and the next two days were a workshop where he took 7 of us through the process of forging a chef-kitchen knife from a piece of 1084.

Starting stock: 1-1/2" by 3/16" by 6-3/4" to the long point of a 45* angle.

Here is my completed knife. 8-5/16" blade (back of cutting edge to point) 13-9/16" OAL. Walnut handle.

Good looking knife, sounds like it was a great workshop.
