I finally completed what will be my last one for The Arkansas Show. I'm sure that many of you will recognize the style of this one. The original of this one was made in 1830 in Philadelphia and has been recognized as the first American Bowie knife to have a sharpened clip. It had what I would consider a saber grind on the blade. I did vary this one from the original which had a hollow grind as I used a flat grind instead.

It is known that the Bowie brothers met with English & Hubers. Whether either of them carried one of their knives is unknown.

The blade on this one is of W1. The guard is wrought iron. The handle is rosewood with brass furniture.

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Nice piece of history! Gary, do you keep things together with the pins or is it only decoration?

Thanks, Lin. I debated on some of the options for quite a while before doing this one.

Christophe--This one has a typical stick tang with a drilled & tapped pommel. The domed pins and escutcheons are purely cosmetic.
