Hello guys.

Been kind out of ideas lately but i found this type of knife while reading some stuff about the Ainu tribe and ended up doing one <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Ended up adopting a tanto blade made out of 1075 clay quenched,

messed around with the polish and all but was just getting a really faint hamon so i just washes the blade in some ferric chloride.

the sheath is made out of 3 pieces instead of 2 like the original ones, wrapped in hemp string and epoxied to strengthen the whole construction.

the handle is made out of olive wood burl and some buffalo horn (a piece is also used on the sheath for the carrying string thingy).

total length: 24 cm or a bit more than 9"

blade length: 12 cm or almost 5"

insight of this work i'll try to make another one and do it as close as i can to the original ones just for the sake of doing it properly <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

let me know what you think, in case i can provide more pics <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> i am all ears for critique so please share it with me

till next time

Elvis
