Hello my name is Geoff Hardy , here is my latest project a blade for my son.It is a Japanese fusion blade where I wanted to do a modern blade with a more traditional handle. My Son loves all things Japanese and especially Pokemon so I kind of went with the idea of contemporary Japanese pop culture meets historical Japanese weaponry. I made two menuki out of wrought iron which are pokeballs which was a bit tongue and cheek and he loves that feature. All in all a few things to improve on but a lot of first for me. I think this might be my 8 or 9th blade which since I started in 2010 is nothing to brag about but it's my hobby and I really like to take my time and develop new skills. I finally feel that my skills are starting to produce some of what I have in my head so that is encouraging.

Anyways the specs are as follows .

1095 differentially heat treated blade

Forged wrought Iron tsuba and Kashira

Chased copper fuchi and seppa

Two forged wrought iron menuki

Cotton ito which has been coated in epoxy

I also attempted to carve some kanji on the ricasso it says Kariudo which apparently means Hunter or Huntsman in Japanese which is also my son's name.

Anyways thanks for looking and all comments are welcome.
