Even though the show isn't for another month I'm trying to get some made in preparation for it. This one has a blade of 1084 & 15N20. The handle is fossil sea cow bone with 416 fittings. The sea cow isn't exactly traditional but I thought that maybe it would work here.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,
Gary

Gary, What is the construction? Is it a through tang? If so how is the pommel attached?

I used a typical stick tang for this one with the end of the tang being threaded. I used some 1 1/4" round rod for the pommel cut to approximately 3/4" in length (there's a 1/4" spacer in front of the pommel). Once I had one edge ground off flat, I center bored & tapped it to within 1/8" of the back. I then drilled out the pommel with a 1/2" bit part way through to eliminate some weight.
Gary
look great
A masterpiece! Same as Lin, I was thinking about the handle construction...in this case, it's a takedown or not?

Thanks.
Christophe--Maybe I'm a maverick but I've never made a take down. I like to seal every joint in my knives. That's just my way of doing it and nothing against a take down. That's just my way of doing it.
