Just received my book a few days ago and it's terrific - a fine book all around that will stand, probably forever, as the definitive work on Bill Scagel. It's also a great example of how collectors can contribute to the larger knife world in major ways if they will just put it all down in a book before it's too late. Kudos to Jim Lucie for doing it and doing it right. Scagel Handmade achieves good balance between images and text - presenting the most complete possible record of Scagel's life and work. It is also a book with integrity. Jim scrupulously avoided stating or repeating something stated elsewhere about Scagel that he could verify with a reasonable degree of certainty. I'm wondering if anyone else has seen the book who might share their own reactions to it here.
