The customer on this hunter wanted a "zebra stripe" pattern of damascus w/cocobolo & osage in the handle:

It's basically an unstacked "w" of low layer 1080 & 15N20. Not your typical damascus but I got a kick out of making something different.

Nice looker Gary! I like bold patterns. But, you really got my mind swimming trying to figure out that handle construction?! Care to share your process? All the best, Phil

The handle isn't as difficult as it looks. While the cocobolo was still square, I cut the middle 2" on an angle and glued the osage w/some white spacer on either side. Once it had set overnight, I cut it on the opposite angle and glued in the second piece of osage & spacer. It gets the unique look after rounding up the square block.

Gary,

Thanks for the explanation on your handle construction. I wonder if you used any pinning or biscuit-like reinforcement between the laminated sections?
