Wondering if anyone here has tried the Dogstar damascus pattern? The question I wonder about is whether or not the cuts for the pattern need to be offset from each other like ladder pattern? And even if they are, the point of the "star" wouldn't be offset would it? Hoping someone here has done this before, and could help a newbie out.

Thanks a lot!

Evan, I have done dog star pattern. Asked Mr. Fisk if I could and he said if I could do it go for it. Yes you do offset the lines slightly in my experience. I would shoot for between 250-350 layers.

Brion,

Thank you for the advice, I followed it and emailed Mr Fisk, asking for permission to use the pattern. The billet I've got is 352 layers of straight laminate, so if he agrees, I should be all set.

Thanks again for the advice!
