Hello to all fellow Bladesmiths. My name is Joshua Kaback and I am from San Antonio,Texas. I am new to the forum and slightly new to the ABS. I have been forging knives for just about a year now and just returned form the Intro. to Bladesmithing course in Maine with Mike Williams earlier this month. I do have to say that Mike and his wife Melinda are some of the coolest people in the world. I learned a lot from Mike and we had some good times and shared some stories. The facilities at the NESM were superb and I would not be surprised if I went up there again to take another class in the future, Derek and Nick are great guys. I will say that because of Mike's awesomeness and professionalism my opinion of the ABS has increased ten fold. I am glad to be apart of this fine organization and look forward to hopefully working with some other Bladesmiths in the future as well. Thanks.
Welcome Joshua. I whole heartedly agree about the school and the teachers. You were fortunate to have been taught by Mike Williams. I'm so glad he's on their line up of instructors.
Welcome Joshua. there are a lot of fine folks here!

Welcome Joshua! You did well taking the intro class. That's the best way to get started in bladesmithing.
I won't add to the nice things being said about Mike; don't want him to get a big head. LOL!! <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//laugh.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Welcome to the ABS Forum Joshua! You can see why we recommend everyone taking the Introduction to Bladesmithing course. You also had the bonus of Mike Williams as your instructor at an outstanding facility with Dereck and Nick.
