Hey y'all,
I've been making blades for a nearly 3 years, starting in March of 2022 when I began working at the Bavarian Blacksmith Experience in Frankenmuth, MI. For the first year it was predominately rail spikes and horseshoes, teaching guests how to forge.
I've now been making high carbon blades for about 2 years, focusing mostly on edc/outdoor and kitchen knives. I've been super lucky to work with some amazing Michigan makers during this time as well, and looking forward to learning more.
Joining ABS is something I should have sooner, but super glad to be here now!
Let me know if I can be of help, I am right here in Michigan too.
Welcome! I'm also in Michigan for now, but probably a bit further north, in the UP. I took classes at Kevin's a couple of years ago, he's a great teacher and a fantastic maker. There are a lot of great makers in the area!
