Hello all! I'm a newly joined apprentice from the Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. I'm in my 50's, so I'm not planning out a career in bladesmithing. It's more of a hobby. I've already taken my last hobby (homebrewing) and turned it into a career, opening a small nano-brewery in my hometown.
I've always had a love for knives and blades of all types, and after taking a couple of classes on bladesmithing and blacksmithing, getting my business to the point where I can take a day or 2 off here and there, and acquiring some basic equipment, I'm ready to get started.
I've always been a builder, making things that I dreamed up. My challenge is that I'm not an artist. I can't draw anything, and my signature would make you think I'm a doctor. I'm hoping I can master the skills needed to be able to produce blades that I can be proud of, and not just some ugly hunk of metal that's good enough to get the job done.
Welcome to the ABS and the forum Corey. Good to have you aboard.
