Hello,
Just joined up with the group, decided it was past time...
A little about me...I've spent most of my life in Alaska, the last three years I've been in Washington State. I started smithing in 2005, studying under a blade/swordsmith named Chris Cushman (Penguin Arms). I've been working part time to sometimes full time as a bladesmith since 2012. My day job is film producing, but due to it's exhausting nature and up and downs for work...I picked up smithing as a side hustle, which allows me to still pay the bills doing something creative.
I focus mainly on historical work, leaning heavily into swords, which is primarily commission driven. I've been slowly trying to move away from relying on commissions, and exploring more modern styles of designs and smithing.
Looking forward to interacting in the forum!
