Good Afternoon

I'm Rob from Kelowna BC Canada, I'm a self taught knifemaker of several years. I do recognize many names on here just after a few minutes of

browsing.......After several years of acquiring stock removal tools and equipment my knife making interest have more less been swayed and consumed

now with forging. Over the past 18 months or so I've been fortunate enough to come across some good anvils , gas forge , good post vise(s)and a decent

assortment of hand tools (with great support from my wife). With a shortage of smiths in my area its trial, error and internet for me but feel I've

come along way in a short time thanks to many of you.

I'm kind of partial to hunters but am always open to trying new designs and techniques of pretty much any kind. I know with the talent on here and

the willingness to share I know I've come to the right place to better my skills......my goal is to continue on making the 'next one better' paving

the way to a JS. Who knows what the future holds from there, I don't know the exact number but the Master Smith list in Canada is pretty short ,

so yes I have a long term goal !!

sorry little long winded just happy to be here ,thanks for letting me be a part

all the best in 2014

Rob

Rob,

I spend a lot of time listening here. There is so much to learn and everyone is very friendly and helpful. Start viewing the videos Dan referenced. There is so much info in them to learn. I view them regularly and see or learn something new each time. Also check out the ABS DVDs that you can buy for your library. I have several, they contain a wealth of information. Give me a holler if I can be of help.

I'm thinking about going to the fall Piney Wood Hammer In, it would be nice to see you if you can make it.

George
