Greetings ABS members. My name is Rich Kinsman and I am honored to be able to join such a great organization as you have here. I became interested in knife making about 5 months ago but have not made one yet. I have read all the material I can get my hands on and have taken 3 blacksmithing classes at the new Arc and flame training center in Rochester,NY. I am putting my workshop together with good quality tools as finances permit. I am very impressed with the level of knowledge and experience of the members here and the willingness to share among the organization.
I am 48 years old and wish I got involved in this endeavor decades ago. I reside in rural northeastern Pennsylvania with my lovely wife Heidi whom I also work with. We are representatives for a major orthopedic manufacturer selling orthopedic implants I.e. Total hip and knee replacements and spend most of our days in the operating room. Because of this,I do have some basic knowledge of metallurgy.
I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible in the future and look forward to learning as much as I can from you. Thanks for having me and feel free to contact me with any joint replacement questions.
Sincerely,
Rich Kinsman
