Hello everyone!

I am definitely a new Bladesmith looking forward to learning more as I progress in the Art. I live in Southwest Virginia surrounded by beautiful Mountains and if any members are located in or near Southwest Virginia please let me know. I did see one new member in this forum who is very close and I hope we meet up someday.

I am in the process of setting up a small shop and building a Forge and looking forward to learning how to make a solid good performing Knife and learning some Blacksmithing skills at the same time. Hopefully, I can attend some classes this year and get a good foundation going as I get started.

Just some background info I have worked in a lot of professions and enjoyed everyone from Coal Mining, Logging, Manufacturing to my current job in Software Testing. Yeah...its quite a variety.

I am advancing on 58 years but still feel a kid at heart and I am looking forward to this new hobby something that I hope to steadily improve and advance over next 5 years. That's the goal and that is why I am here and joined the ABS.

In the meantime I will be lurking around the various forums as there is definitely a lot of great info and helpful folks.

Regards,

ET Bowman

Hello from the Colorado Rockies! I want to welcome you to the ABS Forum where you can be in contact with our ABS members that are now in 19 countries.

I will be working on our ABS monthly Email Newsletter later this week with the latest news in our organization. I highlight and include links to the most active Topics on the ABS Forum from the past month and the most recent videos uploaded to the ABS YouTube Channel.

What kind of software are you testing?

Dan, Lin and Brion thanks for the reception.

Lin and Brion - I am sure in the not to distant future I will be reaching out for help and assistance. Great to know you guys are eager to help and it is appreciated.

Dan - I have been taking full advantage of all the excellent videos. forum topics, how-to's and discussions that I can fit into my internet time. Thanks for overseeing a great resource and reference source.

In answer to your question I test Accounting software used by Federal Agencies doesn't sound overly exciting but I can assure you it can be challenging and it pays the bills <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//wink.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

Hello from west Texas. I was just in Virginia last week on vacation. You should go check out the forge at Colonial Williamsburg.
