My name is Jim Oertel and i live in Rio Rancho , NM . I started making knives about three years ago .these were all stock reduction . I always wanted to learn the forging and heat treatment processes . There are some very talented folks here and sure hope to meet with and learn from them .I hope everybody has a safe and happy new year ! JIM

What kind of knives do you like? I guess you should have plenty of opportunities to cross paths with other bladesmiths in the New Mexico area. Good luck putting a smithy together.
