Howdy folks! It is a great honor to be a ABS member! Something I've wanted to do for years but never got around to it. Looking forward to talking to the greats. I have done a few stock removal knives which was fun but I just wasn't getting as much enjoyment as I think I will pounding on some hot metal! I am currently building a forced air vertical forge that I hope to have done by February. Harvesting cotton right now so everything knife related is at a stand still. The ultimate goal is to become a MS sometime in the next 10 yrs. always been a dream of mine to become a MS. Might never happen but at least a kind of have a goal to work towards.

Thanks guys!

Actually I'm from Colorado but I currently live about 20 miles from a little town called Shamrock in the Texas panhandle.

Good deal! It may be a bit of a hike for you coming all the way from the panhandle, but if you can make it to Old Washington, Arkansas for a hammer in, you'll have a great time. In the meanwhile, we're glad to welcome you here on the forum.

20 miles from Shamrock is the middle of nowhere <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I have some good friends in Shamrock, the Ramseys. I also lived in Canadian for a year, about 17 years ago.

You might look up the Texas Knifemakers' Guild on facebook. We've got a guy in Wellington, and a few over around Dumas. I'm in Lubbock, and am planning a hammer in for the spring.
