Been trolling forums for about 10 years. Decided enough is enough its time to pick up the hammer and put down the mouse. Joined Sunday to the ABS as a full member. Im hoping to go to the Intro to bladesmithing class early next year. Im a disabled veteran from the U.S. Army. Not passionate about much but this has always been kept my attention from other things. Glad to be a part. Now to crawl back into my hole and observe!

Welcome aboard Mathew! I'm a vet too....retired USAF. If you happen to qualify for the VA's Voc Rehab, my shop is an approved VA training facility! Just shoot me a PM or email and I'll send you my VA facility number.....from there its a matter of working with your VA Rep to get a class approved.

Welcome aboard <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//smile.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />. A lot of great and extremely helpful people here. And great to hear you're looking to take a class. One of the best things I did was go take a class (thanks again, Ed <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//wink.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />). Helps answer so many questions to have someone right there with you.

Thank you for the replies! So far ive been very impressed with the community here. Glad to be a part of it. Ed, I think that's awesome that your an approved school. I'm not qualified for vocational but if it changes, you will be one of the first to know! Now that I know, I can pass it along to other vets I run across.

Again, thank you for your warm gestures. Can't wait to meet you guys!
