Hello all,
I live in the flatland of the Mississippi river bottoms where the mosquitoes grow large like vultures and the fields grow white with cotton. I started making knife shaped objects about three years ago via stock removal method (don't yell at me!). One things leads to another: from forges, hammers, anvils, and tendonitis, to ABS membership fees. You all understand. Not until last year did I know about the ABS, and such. Plans are being made for attendance at the school in Washington, Ark. Nothing that I have forged, to date, is worth posting; we will get to that later.
This is my mid-life crisis, of sorts, as it all started at age 40. My life's calling is ministry; pastoring is my full time work. Working with metal is much like working with people: they both resist change until the heat is on, both take an edge nicely when put to the stone, and failure happens often...with a few total crack ups.
Thanks for the read. Thanks to all who have posted in the past...there is much homework reading to be done.
Have a blessed day,
Tony Wood

God willing and the creeks don't rise, yes I plan to be there. we could meet somewhere, there is a group that gets together on Friday night and goes out for dinner. When it gets closer
drop me a PM and I will give you more details if you would like.
Anthony
Welcome to the ABS and the forum Tony. All of us are still learning, it is a never ending process. The hammer ins and intro classes are great places to meet like minded people and share knowledge. I hope to be there for at least part of the hammer in. I look forward to meeting you.
