I'm very happy to be a new member of the ABS. / I took a two month blacksmith and horse shoeing course in OKC when I was 17 (1981) and spent more time putting shoe's on then on my forge. / I have always wanted to get back to my forge and now it's time. / I did get my forge up and running, old school double burner gas with electric fan, but my anvil was bought without ever being leveled and shaped. / Currently working on anvil and trying to work with my boss to get two weeks in a row off so I can take a ABS "Intro to Blade Smith" class at the first possible chance. / I look forward to bending hot iron again and just maybe make a few knifes my grandkids would keep for years to come.
Thanks

Welcome Kenneth
Sounds like your ready. You will love going to a school, and the Bill Moran school in Washington Arkansas not to far away.
Enjoy.

Thanks, It's funny how life gets in the way!
I'm still young enough to work on getting my JS stamp but not sure about time and "skill" for a MS stamp but will try!
Someone told we years ago about the way to walk to China, one step at a time. lol

Hello Kenneth. I know the horseshoeing school. There was one up in NE OKC and just south of Norman. The one south is still going. I have also been past Welch a number of times. I look forward to seeing you at the school in Old Washington. It is a great way to learn a lot in a short time, plus it is a lot of fun.
Welcome aboard and let us know how we can help.

Thanks to everyone. Looks like I will get the chance to take the intro class in September at Texarkana College. Will be sending in application this weekend and can't wait.
Welcome to the ABS and the ABS forums. I look forward to seeing what you make as you go along.
