Hi all,
My name is Frank Bigelow, and I have been obsessed with knives for as long as I can remember. I began some collecting knives when I was transferred to Germany due to a new assignment in the Air Force and couldn't really continue collecting guns. As I learned more and more about what makes a good knife, I began to do a bit of stock removal (my first one was from the leaf-spring of an Iraqi Army truck that had been hit by a roadside bomb ...! It is more a shiv than anything else really.). At that point, the bug had bit me bad and I have been dabbling since then.
Not too long ago the VA deemed me 100% disabled and unable to hold a "normal" job, so I have been blessed with the opportunity to pursue my retirement plans a whole heck of a lot earlier than I thought! My wife signed me up as an Apprentice as a Christmass gift. Needless to say she is extremely supportive of my endeavors. I guess she can see that there really is something therapeutic about pounding on hot metal ...
I look forward to learning from everyone and hope to make it to Blade this next year if finances allow me to meet some of y'all face to face. I am really excited to be starting this journey and am grateful to not be doing it alone.
Respectfully,
Frank B
