Hi,

My name is Billy Salyers. In August of 2017, my kids and I decided to do a summer project (we do one every year) that involved playing with fire and steel. We made a pair of rebar tongs and some rebar cutlery, and some really great memories. From that day forward we were hooked. We began forging every available second, and quickly found a love for knifemaking. My son and I spent the next summer building a new workshop and moving the smithy out of our basement.

I average making about a knife a week and am always trying to improve my craft. I've sold enough knives at this point to justify calling myself a (very) part-time bladesmith, and I've been meaning to join ABS for a while.

I'm hoping to make some connections with some locals who are willing to help me get even better in my craft. The more I learn and the better I get, the more I realize how little I know and how much room for growth I have.
