Hello to everyone. My name is Gilbert McCann I have been making knives for 2 years just under 20 knives. This forum has been very helpful the members are inspiring and giving. I started with stock removal kitchen knives I was to cheap to pay over 200 hundred dollars for a knife that seems a lot more reasonable now. After taking some lessons and seeing hunters, bowies and others I got the bug and built myself a forge for Christmas (done by February). Well now I'm on my 6th forged knife. Here's my latest it's my 3rd bowie and first hamon w-2,wrought-iron, stainless steel and leopard wood and my first sheath. Thanks to everyone for sharing their knowledge on this site.

Nice looking knife and sheath Gilbert. Where in Phoenix are you? I am up north in New River. Are you connected with AABA yet?

That's the Arizona Artist Blacksmith Association. We have several knife makers in the organization. This weekend is the Camp Verde demonstration. Check it out, and I hope to see you around the forum (and the anvil).

Here is AABA's home page:

You can PM or email me for more info.
