Hello, I've been making knives for about 25 years. Mostly I have done stock removal and "guess" heat treats with a torch. In the last 2 years I've gathered much better equipment and learned quite a bit. Recently I became very interested (nearly obsessed) with damascus and San Mai blades. I'm finishing my hyd. press tomorrow and am ready to start learning everything I can about forge welding. My goal is to become a journeyman smith in 3 to 5 years and retire early to my home shop doing what I enjoy.

Thank You. I live right next to Lake Superior by the Apostle Islands. It really is beautiful country!

I'm a Boundary Waters kinda guy. But I wouldn't mind exploring some of the flowage rivers in your area. There's some great smallie territory there.
