Hello everyone,

I forged my first knife a little over 2 years and have made a couple dozen since. In my quest to improve the quality of my work I've developed a deep respect for the forged blade, and the folks that craft them. Joining the ABS seemed like the next logical step to interact with and learn from some of the best craftsmen in the world. I'm really looking forward to picking through these forums, there's got to be a ton of info in there.

Thanks,

Nick

Welcome to the ABS and Forum. I think you will find it a fine and well ran organization all based on teaching and helping each other grow.

I hope you enjoy.

I can't get the quotes to work how I want, so...

Matthew Orr ~ I'm in Centralia, so you're about 2-2.5 hrs away. I wouldn't mind a get together, if you could convince me to leave the shop. <img src=' http://www.americanbladesmith.com/ipboard/public/style_emoticons//cool.gi f' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Robert Wright ~ I work in Columbia, love it here. I haven't spent the time to figure out how to drop pics into the forums, but I've got a gallery on my website. (not sure if links are allowed, but.... My link)

So I spent the last few weeks looking through most of these threads and I've noticed 2 things... I don't know anywhere near what I thought I knew and compared to most of the blades I see here, my work is almost embarrassing. I am certain I've found the right place!
