Good morning,
I'm new to this forum and excited to join the group.
I'm new to knife making - mostly stock removal for the last five years. I'm fascinated by marrying the science of metallurgy with the art of custom knifes. As an avid outdoorsman I wish I had started this endeavor sooner. My plan is to work my way up the ranks and achieve an MS rating. Not to sell knives for a living, but to constantly improve my products and crate functional works that will get passed down through the generations. Judging from the pictures in this group, I have a long way to go.
Attached is a pic of a Bowie I'm finishing for my son as a present for graduation from USMC boot camp at Parris Island. I'm currently forging a Seax from an old farrier's rasp. It's killed the harbor freight anvil - so it's time to invest in a real steel anvil...
Cheers - and thanks,
John

Welcome and congrats on son being at PI ! I spent a long hot summer there in 82. He will love the Bowie and it will likely be a hit on his field gear
